Anybody know any weird fact or places in Leeds?
Hi guys
Im currently researching a film I'm making in Leeds about the city itself.
I am just wondering if anybody knows any weird tales or weird places in Leeds, not necessary in the city centre. Anything worth taking a look at I will investigate and possibly put into the film's script.
It can be anything from Freemason's to The town hall... the weirder the better.

I know a few
* Kirkstall Abbey is supposedly haunted by The Innocent Boy
* Leeds is thought of as the 'capital' for the UK's Jewish community
* It's the fastest growing city in the UK and is the countries second biggest financial, commercial and legal centre outside of London
* It was home to every major industry throughout the 20th century - steel, coal, wool, textiles, chemicals, engineering and fashion
* Middleton Estate, South Leeds, is one of the countries biggest council estates and is here due to slum clearances in Hunslet. Possibly linked, there are more people on incapacity benefit per head here than anywhere else in the country
* Leeds has the largest percentage of council housing in the country - why? It also has the highest percentage of educationally sub-normal people - again...why?
