Freemason Scottish Rite York Rite

Questions for Freemason's only – Scottish or York rite?
Only freemason's please –
I'm a new MM and was interested in one of the two appendent bodies. Which would you recommend as a continuing education? I know a little about the Scottish rite but nothing about the York rite. The York rite interests me more (probably because I know nothing about it) What would be the main differences? Would the degrees be done in similar fashion? What about time dedication? Similar?
If you like the ritual in the Blue Lodge you will feel at home in the York Rite- as in the first 3 degrees there is a lot of floor work and the candidates are actively put through their degrees York Rite bodies meet on a regular monthly basis, so you can find your month a but full if you are very active (I am). The Scottish Rite is much more theatrical, degrees are staged for an audience and some of them can be quite elaborate. Scottish Rite bodies meet regularly but because the degrees are complex to put on they will typically be done twice a year. It is quite possible to do both rites and many brothers do.
